Mr. Brandolino is currently the Acting Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).
He joined UNODC in October 2015 as Director, Division for Treaty Affairs, where he oversees UN-mandated policy processes related to drug and crime issues and technical assistance centers related to addressing corruption, organized crime, money laundering, cybercrime and terrorism.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Brandolino served 15 years in a variety of management and senior advisor positions at the U.S. State Department's Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), including as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director for the Office of Anticrime Programs. Mr. Brandolino oversaw policy and technical assistance programs related to anti-corruption, anti-money laundering/counter-financing of terrorism, wildlife trafficking, transnational organized crime, cybercrime, and migrant smuggling.
Before joining the Department of State, Mr. Brandolino helped develop and directed the American Bar Association/CEELI Criminal Law Reform Project; served as Assistant General Counsel for the Multinational Force and Observers; worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Poland; developed anti-corruption training programs for the United Nations Inter-regional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI); was counsel to two U.S. Senate investigations into corruption and mismanagement in federal programs; served as an aide to the Speaker of the U.S.. House of Representatives; and was Associate Counsel at a private Washington DC law firm.
Mr. Brandolino holds a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School and is a graduate of Providence College. He is admitted to the Bars of Massachusetts and Washington DC.
